Representatives of the International Coalition for Human Rights took part in a human rights advocacy initiative on the margins of the 63rd session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, calling for the renewal of the mandate of the Fact-Finding Mission on the use of chemical weapons in Sudan and for continued support for the protection of civilians.

Civil Society Panel in Geneva Addresses Systematic Violations Against Women in Sudan, Urges ICC Referral and OPCW Investigation into Chemical Weapons Use

Civil society leaders, human rights defenders and legal experts convened in Geneva on 25 August 2026 for the panel "Women’s Condition and Violence in Wartime: Focus on the Sudan Crisis." Issued jointly by ICHR, EADM, TYFA and Post Versa, the statement urges an independent fact-finding mission with OPCW participation, ICC referral without immunity, and the meaningful participation of Sudanese women in all peace processes.

ICHR Co-Organises a Geneva Side Event on Women's Condition and Violence in Wartime

The International Coalition for Human Rights is a co-organiser of "Women’s Condition and Violence in Wartime — Focus: The Sudan Crisis", a side event held at the Club Suisse de la Presse in Geneva on Tuesday 25 August 2026, 15:00–17:00. ICHR is represented on the panel by Abdelrahim Grein and Dr. Mohamed Ali.

Joint Statement: The International Coalition of Human Rights Organizations Strongly Condemns SAF Drone Attacks on Al-Zawiya Ghara Village in North Darfur

The Coalition condemns the drone strikes conducted by the Sudanese Armed Forces on 2 August 2026 at Al-Zawiya Ghara, some 30 kilometres northwest of Kabkabiya in North Darfur, which verified field reports say struck densely populated civilian areas and caused more than 40 casualties. It calls for an immediate halt to airstrikes, an independent international investigation, and unhindered humanitarian access for survivors.

Statement of Condemnation and Strong Denunciation: Airstrike Targeting Civilians in Shirshar Area, North Kordofan State

The Coalition condemns the aerial attack that targeted unarmed civilians in the Shirshar area of West Bara locality, North Kordofan State. A military Antonov aircraft reportedly took off from Wadi Seidna Air Base on 29 July 2026, followed by strikes on Shirshar that resulted in civilian casualties. The Coalition calls on the Independent Fact-Finding Mission to reach the sites, and for legal and criminal responsibility to be established.

ICHR Welcomes the Firm Position of the United States Administration and Calls for Full Accountability for Alleged Chemical Weapons Use in Sudan

The Coalition welcomes the firm stance taken by the United States Administration on the grave allegations of chemical weapons use in Sudan, supports targeted sanctions should credible and independent investigations establish responsibility, and urges prompt, impartial investigations into all allegations committed during the conflict.

The Coalition condemns a reported drone strike on a civilian site sheltering displaced people in Qoz Al-Dahish, Blue Nile State, which reportedly killed three members of one displaced family, including two children, and seriously injured a mother and a child. It calls for an independent, impartial investigation and for accountability.
